Can this work with self hosted videos too?

    Would there be a way for this to also work with self hosted videos?
    If I upload a video to my website, that it could use that as a thumbnail as well?

    Our plugin here relies on video previews that both Youtube and Vimeo generate and make available via their API endpoints, and it’s those that we fetch and upload to the media library and set as the featured image.

    If WordPress generates their own images and perhaps even uploads to the library during self-hosted video uploads, then I’ll say it’s possible, but I haven’t tried this at all lately so I don’t have answers on that part.
