    Hello,

it seems that the Waterlava theme or Gutenverse does not allow restricted access with password for a page. See https://jeanmarcfanon.com/669-2/

I’ve tuned a password for each of the blogpost but I can access theme without password. I’ve tried from another browser (without connecting to wp admin) but the same result: I can reach each post / page without password.

    Regards

    Jean-Marc

    Hi Jean-Marc,

Can you tell me, how do you put your content? Is your content on the post/page editor?

Please make sure. In the post template, there are post blocks, like post content, post feature image, post title, etc. Then put the content on the post editor. If you put blocks other than block posts. That blocks will not be restricted.

I notice there are already post block content in your single template. Because the password form appear.

    Hi Pradnya,

Firts of all, I would like to protect the page https://jeanmarcfanon.com/500-2/. These page cannot be built with post block. This page is blank in wordpress editor, just visibility is tuned to “protected” in this editor.

I use the gutenverse editor to put all the blocks I want. For this page, it’s just an image box. As I understand, this bloc can be seen when this page is protected?

This image bloc link to a page where are listed all the post: https://jeanmarcfanon.com/500-2/646-2/

This page is also protected. But I can see all the post I have without pasword required. This page is blank in wordpress editor, just visibility is tuned to “protected” in this editor.

On this page, except for header and footer, there is only one Post Block. If I understand, this post block may not be seen when the page is protected ? However, I can see the post.

Another remark is that when I go to a post, I can see the image with the password entry below. What I search is to protect before to see any post

As I look to wordpress documentation, it seem that a page or post cannot be seen when it’s protected: https://fr.www.ads-software.com/support/article/using-password-protection/

    Thank you for your help.

The password protected will protect all of your post and page content. WordPress will directly provide a template to your page which the themes can override it to match their style. But, it was before Full Site Editing (FSE) was introduced.

In FSE, you can edit all of your templates, including post and page editor. To be clearly, see images below which are templates and contents.

These are templates. Also there are post template (Single) and page template (Page).

These are your post and page. The content is all of blocks, text, etc inside it.

Because now you can edit template using FSE, WordPress and Gutenverse provide Post Content block on template to get the content and show it on your frontend.

So, if you put your blocks on templates, it will not be protected. Because it is template. Same as header, footer, and maybe sidebar on theme before FSE. If you want to protect the content, make sure you put it on post and page, while on the template just leave Post Block Content in it.
