Hello, I’m working with WooCommerce 7.3.0 and “WooCommerce PayPal Payments” 2.0.1 plugin

I see there are two payments methods in the Settings page:

    • “PayPal” with description “Accept PayPal, Pay Later and alternative payment types.”
    • “Advanced Card Processing” with description “Accept debit and credit cards, and local payment methods with PayPal’s latest solution.”

Both of them are provided by the PayPal plugin.

If I deselect the second method, I still see the possibility to pay with Credit or Debit card when the user selects the PayPal method at checkout:

While If I activate also the second method, I see an additional option for the user:

So..at the end… why should I keep both the methods since both of them lets credit card processing? Why is the second useful? Thanks

    Hi @misterbirra

Standard card payments and Advanced Card Processing are two different features to accept card payments.

So..at the end… why should I keep both the methods since both of them lets credit card processing? Why is the second useful??

Standard card payments are available for every merchant (personal or business), while the Advanced Card Processing has certain requirements like a business accounts operating from specific regions, and a vetting by PayPal.

When Advanced Card Processing is enabled, the standard card button will automatically disappear from the iframe in the PayPal gateway. Advanced Card Processing are usually the preferred option, if available for your account and region.

I suggest reading the documentation here and letting us know if any questions remain.
    Thanks!

    Kind regards,
    Niklas
