Do you have a guide with correct settings for an Office365 mailbox please? I.e. what port to use, hostname etc.

    Hi @primalspace

    Thanks for reaching out.

We have a quick start guide that covers general information about Easy WP SMTP here.

As for the O365 SMTP settings, they are:

    SMTP Host:?smtp.office365.com
    Encryption:?TLS
    SMTP Port:?587
    Authentication:?Yes
    Username:?Your Hotmail/Outlook account email (e.g.,[email protected])
Password:?You will need to?generate an app password?for your account

    I hope this helps.

Thanks, it’s for Office365 though, not hotmail, but I think the settings you have provided are correct.

How does your plugin handle Multifactor authentication from Microsoft? Suggests the legacy format will be limited in around 6 months? So the connection will stop working at that point?

    Hi @primalspace

Thanks for getting back to me.

You should not experience issues so long as you generated and are using an App password. Please note that before performing that step it’s recommended that you disable the legacy MFA.

Can your plugin be configured for Modern Auth though? It appears not.

    See here – https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/780398/wordpress-plugins-oauth-and-microsoft-365

And recommended plugin here for Oauth ability – https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wpo365-msgraphmailer/

    Hi @primalspace

Currently Easy WP SMTP does not support Oauth connections to O365. I do agree it would be useful, though. I’ve made a note of this as a feature request and we’ll keep it on our radar as we plan out our roadmap for the future.

I have not personally tried that plugin before, but you can try using it as an alternative. Another plugin that comes to mind is WP Mail SMTP. The Pro version of the plugin allows OAuth connections to O365 via their Outlook mailer.
