CoBlocks Labs & custom child theme

Hi guys,
for the project I currently work on I created a Go child theme to be able to modify some things freely. Unfortunately I observed that CoBlocks Labs limits me when the Child theme is activated to use Site Design and Layout. Is there any possibility to solve this issue and make these features available also on a custom child theme? If I’m not wrong, the Site Design part is the only way to safely modify typography for a selected design.
