    Hi @spaceinsects

There is a JavaScript error on your Cart & Checkout pages which can interrupt the script execution on the Checkout page and prevent the PayPal smart buttons from being loaded.
In that case, there would be only the “Place order” button, but this button does not work on a technical level.

This error appears to originate in the Stripe plugin. So I suggest first disabling the Stripe plugin to see if the PayPal smart buttons are loading correctly on your site then.
Please let us know how this works for you.

    Thanks!

    Kind regards,
    Niklas

Heya, @niklasinpsyde and thanks for the swift answer!

Deactivated Stripe but still the same, error was there even before I installed it initially.

If you got any further advice I would greatly appreciate, also site is still not operational so not so in a rush, ty.

    Hello @spaceinsects

Could you try with all other plugin (only leaving WooCommerce and PayPal Payments active) and replacing the theme with the default Storefront theme see if that makes a difference?

If it does, then you need to reactivate the plugins & theme one by one to find out what plugin (or theme) is causing the issue.

    Kind regards,
    Joost

    Hey!

Here are 3 pictures related to the procedure you told me to perform.

    We can see

    1. The PayPal Error message on the Divi Theme which happened to have changed compared to the last one( I have tried different browsers/incognito mode no luck)
    2. My plugin list showing only WooCoomerce and Paypal Active
    3. The Error Message that is currently occurring with the StoreFront theme

    Hello @spaceinsects

The last screenshot shows the WooCommerce button when it should probably show the PayPal button. This is the cause of the “could not retrieve order” error. Without the PayPal button, this payment method will not function.

In the situation where you don’t see any available payment methods on the checkout page, you might want to try to create a new checkout page and only use the short code [woocommerce_checkout]. If on this page, the buttons show up, then the page builder you used is using incorrect short codes for the checkout page.

If you want, we can take a closer look, but you might want to open a private engagement to us following these instructions: https://paypal.inpsyde.com/docs/request-support/

    Pending your response.

    Kind regards,
    Joost

    Hello @spaceinsects

I will mark this thread as resolved, since we got this fixed via your private engagement with us.
In the end, we resolved this, by deleting the plugin data from the database and onboarding your account again to the plugin. Not sure what caused it, but this will at least be another option that can be tried when people encounter a similar situation.

Please open a new thread if you run into any new issues.

    Kind regards,
    Joost
