preview wp site before others see it

  • Hi, I’m kinda new to WP and I have it installed on server. I was wondering if there was a way to keep others from seeing it before I get it built? B/c if you type the domain it goes to the generic WP template. I have the old site in a sub directory on the same server. I did try to setup a redirect so that when someone types in the domain they go to /old-site directory. That worked … BUT when I was in WP and clicked “view site” it also took me to the /old-site directory. I just want to be able to work on the site without people seeing it yet.
