I do not understand why this plugin makes a post for the recipe card and then I need to make another post (blog post). Isn’t that taking up twice as much space? Why isn’t the recipe just stored on the blog post? Am I understanding this correctly? And does the recipe need to be published before being published on the blog post?

    Hello @tamierp

You can create new recipes directly when adding new blog posts on your website.

Just go to the Posts section, create a new post, and add the “Recipe Card” block in the editor: https://d.pr/i/J1ueW8

This way, a Recipe post in the Recipe Cards section will automatically be created.

The “Recipe Cards” section, where you can create separate Recipe posts, was created to manage your recipes easier or when you want to embed a recipe in other locations on your website.

We tried to make our plugin as flexible as possible to create and display recipes anywhere you want. Not everyone is using regular blog posts, so that’s why we created a separate section where you can view all recipes, manage them and get the shortcode to insert on pages.

You can find more useful articles to see what you can do with our plugin in the Documentation:
