ecwid wordpress – soft 404 & duplicate canonical
-
Hi, I’m a dev from Upwork helping a client out with a couple issues.
I’ll go with the easier one first that is most likely somehow tied into the second.
- Non-existing pages are giving a soft 404. After a bit of digging I realized that as long as there’s a p<numerical value> in the slug and the page has your plugin running it returns a 200 header. ( eg: https://www.beyondelegance.com/fwieifuw-iewufhwiuef-iwuefuwe | hard 404, https://www.beyondelegance.com/fwieifuw-iewufhwiuef-iwuefuwe-p23 | soft 404 ). This shouldn’t be happening.
- I’ve seen 2 other threads on this second issue but I couldn’t find a clear solution ( thread – https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/multiple-canonical-urls/ ). Basically, any page or even post type with your plugin, as long as you have the product name correct in the slug will return that product. ( eg: https://www.beyondelegance.com/contact/Aqua-Tablecloth-Rentals-Polyester-p195804141 – and here’s some ajax modal version of it – https://www.beyondelegance.com/terms-of-use/Aqua-Tablecloth-Rentals-Polyester-p195804141 ) P.S. I’ve gone to advanced settings and set “ecwid_hide_canonical” to hide.
Thanks for your time. Art.
