Multilingual support

Hi there,

I can see there are plugins that add the “extra” language to a web site but in Joomla you can have two languages on a same server and without using plugins. The way this works is adding pages for each language and then adding a directory so that when A or B language is chosen then the right language is chosen. How can this be done in WordPress (WP)? I see that a different install of WP is needed? Any input so two languages can be supported without using a plugin?
