After we enabled the plugin, it adds extra white space in some containers (at the bottom). Any idea what might be causing it and/or is there a setting that can be disabled to fix it?

    Hi @wordpmoon12

I hope you are doing well today.

By adding this parameter to the page URL “?avoid-minify=true” it does not sound like this will be a Hummingbird Asset Optimization issue. Also adding other parameters to generate no cache version still shows the issue.

Would you please run a conflict test? Please deactivate all plugins except Hummingbird and check if the problem is gone. If so, then enable all plugins one by one and find which one is having a conflict. If there is no positive result, switch to the default WordPress theme like 2019, and see if it works.

Before this test, we recommend full site backup or running this test on the staging site.

    Kind Regards,
    Kris

    Thanks for the reply @wpmudevsupport13
And you’re right, it was the Smush plugin. I disabled it and now all looks correct. It was also stretching the youtube videos vertically.
I assume the Smush plugin doesn’t need to be active all the time, just when adding new images?

    Hi @wordpmoon12

If you can confirm it was Smush doin that then yes – you can keep it disabled and just enable from time to time, run bulk smush to optimize any images added meanwhile and then disable it back.

But we can also try to narrow down possible causes a bit – with Smush enabled try:

    1. disabling its “Lazy Load” option if it is enabled
    2. try disabling the “Image Resize Detection” option in “Smush -> Settings -> General” page – if its enabled.

There’s a chance that one of these options would be related so it’d be worth a try.

    Best regards,
    Adam
