    I have a wordpress/woocommerce site.

I have a lot of colours in my attribute colours. I have just tried to add a new item /variation under the colour attribute. That item is “gold”

The colour is “gold” but because “gold” was added ages ago and since then i have added more gold items ie i sell beads so I have added “9850 gold”, “6750 gold”, “0056 gold” etc. I now have about 450 items in the colour attribute with gold in its description.

So when I try to add the new item and I select the colour attribute and then try to add “gold” I get a long list of items with gold in them but at about 50 items it stops so I cannot select gold to add it to the colours as its not on the list as the list would need to be able to have about 450 items which I’m guessing is breaking the number allowed to it. But then how do I add it?

If I try to add new it obviously says “A term with the name provided already exists in this taxonomy.”

I thought I would have got a reply to this and cant see that it has not been an issue in the past for other people using wordpress or woocommerce. I was hoping to get a code snippet or something that would allow more than the 50 items it gives me when i have a selection 450 that I need to access.

    Hello @mrfoameruk,

I’m so sorry for the late reply, I’m not sure if I fully understand the request.

Can you please attach some screenshots? You can upload them using Snipboard.

Look forward to hearing back from you.

I want to add plain “gold”. because gold is not in the top 50 values it is unselectable as is everything under 029b Tan Gold.

    Hi @mrfoameruk

It should show all the variation in the scroll bar, It is likely that your theme or one of your plugins is conflicting with the WooCommerce.

I would recommend that you perform a full conflict test to see if you can find the cause. Here’s how to do that: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/

Let us know how it goes.

My site connects to other platforms so I dont want to disconnect them to figure out the problem.

I just made an attribute for “bright gold” and use that instead.

Its a pretty basic site with 2023 theme and the admin is just as ie no plugins for that.

I’ll make do with the workaround.

Thank for the help. I thought it must be me or there would be lots of people complaining with the 50 limit.

    Hello @mrfoameruk,

Glad to hear you’ve figured it out. You can use WP-STAGING to perform a conflict test on a staging environment in the future.

I will go ahead and switch this thread to solved but feel free to open a new one or reply here if you have any other questions.

    Cheers!
