    Dear Yoast SEO team,

first of all, thanks a lot for your work.

I got two (hopefully minor) questions:

Is it normal to have three sitemaps? Or is it just one? It says: “This XML Sitemap Index file contains 3 sitemaps.”. One is for pages, one for category and one for posts. Is that ok and as it should be (since i have read there shouldn’t be more than one sitemap)?

And secondly i have seen that my homepage is shown in two sitemap locations – posts and pages. Is that alright? If not, how could or should i remove the one on the posts?

Thank you a lot and have a great day.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello @adrean

Thanks for using the Yoast SEO plugin. It generates a sitemap index (sitemap_index.xml) based on the content types (posts, pages, products, taxonomies, custom posts types etc). And of course, depending on your choice, indiviual sitemaps can be turned ON or OFF. You should only submit the sitemap_index.xml but you can have as many individual sitemaps as necessary in the sitemap index.

Your homepage will appear in the post-sitemap and page-sitemap if you have set your homepage to display latest posts in WordPress > Settings > Reading. It’s expected behavior. The page sitemap always includes the homepage, and there isn’t a way to exclude it. The post sitemap includes the post archive as the first link. It’s not an issue.
