As a first step, can you try a quick test and see if the functionality works as expected with a bare WordPress install? A bare install is basically a default WordPress theme like Twenty Twenty and no other plugins besides ours installed. You may want to consider trying this out on a staging site so that you don’t have to switch things around on your live site.

Hi Marta. Thank you. I do have Twenty Twenty, so I’ll try out the plugin deactivations.

That worked! Thank you. I did a little playing around with it, and for me it was the WordPress Page Optimize Plugin. How does this affect my site, if at all? Is there another optimizer that I can use? Thanks!

I’m glad to learn that worked! There can be a number of things that can conflict with optimizer plugins, and one of these would be its capability to minify scripts and stylesheets (see: The Calendar Doesn’t Look Right). If configured right, however, an optimizer plugin can work with The Events Calendar seamlessly.

That said, we have some knowledgebase articles for some of the popular optimizer plugins: WP-Optimize, SiteGround Optimizer, and Autoptimize.
