User cannot edit his proflile

    Hi!

    The following problem has appeared recently:

    Users are not able to change their profile. They can go to the profile to edit it, enter the changes and save them. But after that only the empty profile is displayed. When edit the profile again, the previously entered data is gone.

    This also happens when I, as an administrator, want to change a user’s profile.

    All users have the role “member”. In the settings of Ultimate Member is defined that this role can edit their own profile.

    I use WordPress 6.1.1, Ultimate Member 2.5.4

    PHP version 7.4

    You can enable PHP error logging, read this guide: “How to enable debug logging”

    You will probably get a PHP log file with notices and errors in /wp-content/debug.log when you edit a profile.

    Post the content of this file here in the Forum and we can give you a PHP error explanation.

    Looks like you have a lot of security issues detected by “ModSecurity”.

    Your WordPress installation is made on a filesystem /opt/apache24/ where there have been issues with UM versions after 2.5.0.

    Did you update UM to 2.5.4 before this started to happen?

    You have either to test a backdate of UM to version 2.5.0
    or
    ask your Web hosting support to disable “ModSecurity” for your site.

    Many thanks for your help. My provider WPX has solved the problem. It was because three images had to be uploaded in the profile – otherwise the profile could not be saved. It works fine now.
