Subcategories display

Ever since I’ve switched to 1.5, my categories are a mess. They used to be split up in categories and subcategories, and subcategories were in alphabetical order. I’ve tried all sorts of things, and yes, I’ve tried all kinds of variations on wp_list_cats tags (my current version is

<?php wp_list_cats(‘hierarchical=1&optionall=1&sort_column=name&
optioncount=1′); ?>

…and I just don’t have a clue why it’s not showing up the way I want it to.
