Is there a way to choose the primary category I want to go in the URL for each product? Some products can be in multiple categories, but WooCommerce usually chooses the WORST option to put in the URL and there’s no option for me to edit this. With Yoast, you can choose the primary category you want for the URL, so you can pick the one that’s best for SEO. Any plans for SmartCrawl Pro to add this important feature?

    Hi @suefrench

I hope you are doing well today.

I’m afraid, the SmartCrawl currently does not support such “primary category” selection feature. It is, however, already on a list of planned features for the future, so it would be implemented with one of our future releases. I’m afraid I don’t have an ETA, though.

We are announcing all major features on our roadmap so you may want to keep an eye on it and when it’s about to be added to the plugin, it will be listed there:

    Hi @suefrench,

Could you please update to the latest version of SmartCrawl and check its new Primary Category feature and see whether it fits your needs?

Thanks so much for adding this feature. Just one question. It actually highlights TWO Primary Categories – which of course, doesn’t make any sense and still makes it difficult to get it to choose which one of these two I want. Can this be tweaked so that it only allows ONE Primary Category? Thanks.

    Hi @suefrench

    Thank you for response!

This is actually interesting. It shouldn’t be happening and I couldn’t replicate this behavior in any way.

Whenever I try to set Primary category, the “primary” mark is removed from any other category that was set this way earlier.

Is SmartCrawl currently the only plugin on site that can set those primary categories (or perhaps you are also using some other SEO plugin that can do this)?

Is there any server-end cache active (mostly of Object Cache type) and if yes, have you tried to purge it?

Also, did you notice if there are any specific steps to follow when this happens or it “just shows up” like that for you, without any particular steps or reasons?

    Please advise!

    Best regards,
    Adam
