Hello! I am currently encountering an issue where when trying to update a template, after hitting Save, the action will never complete. When I refresh the page, it gives a “Saving failed.” error. This only occurs when updating a template. Updating a page, for instance, works fine. I am also still able to create new templates, but when I try to change anything in them this error occurs.

This error only started occurring today. I have been editing templates on the site for the past few weeks with no issues. No new plugins have been installed. Disabling plugins does not change the situation. The only thing that has changed today is I added a new user as an admin on the site.

I would appreciate some guidance on where to begin trying to debug this issue. It is my understanding that under the hood the template Save button initiates a database query, but I’m not sure how to debug that in WordPress.

I am using a child theme of the Twenty-Twenty-Two theme. I am using the block editor.

Here are the specs of my installation:

    • PHP: 7.4.3-4ubuntu2.17
    • Database Server Version: 8.0.32-0ubuntu0.20.04.2
    • Database Extension: mysqli
    • Database Client Version: 70403 (7.4.3)
    • WordPress Version: 6.1.1
    • Server: Apache 2.4.41
    • OS: Linux 5.4.0-136-generic x86_64

    Active plugins:

    • Contact Form 7
    • CF7 Blocks
    • WPCode Lite
    • Query Monitor

    Thank you!
