    Hi,

I am typing up a new post and when I highlight the text and click on the link button nothing happens?

I de-activated all plug ins and the only one it doesn’t work with is toast? Was ok yesterday, any ideas?
    thanks

    Hello @lozzag123

Thanks for reaching out about your hyperlinks. I couldn’t replicate this with Yoast SEO 20.3 and WordPress 6.1.1. Often, we see problems occur in combination with another plugin or theme. The fastest way to rule out any conflict is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Twenty-Two.

Please test this on your development or staging site if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which does not affect normal visitors to your site.

If you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts

If you feel uncomfortable doing this yourself or if this does not solve your issue, our Yoast SEO Premium plugin comes with one year of (technical) support.

Had to downgrade to 20.2.1 in order to get links working again.

Hope this helps a little bit, the search IS there its just hidden at the top:

Thanks thats exactly whats happening! Do you know how I downgrade to the version before? Sorry I’m really not very technical!

Just found a plug in WP rollback so going to give that a try, thank you!

We are seeing the same thing as noted by @justin-bigscoots with the link box being shot to the top of the editor in most cases. works when Yoast is off or it’s downgraded to 20.2.1

Same issue happening here. Rolled back to 20.2.1 on WordPress 6.0.3?to get the editor working as expected again.

Thanks, have done this now too and has solved the problem. ??

    Hey all,

I’m trying hard to reproduce this but to no avail. On a new installation of WordPress 6.1.1 (current release) and Yoast SEO 20.3 (current version), the popup for adding a link comes into play right at the cursor/line of the content where I’m editing and not somewhere in the upper region of the screen viewport as seen in the screenshots of @justin-bigscoots

Are you all on the latest WordPress version as well as the newest versions of plugins and themes? Are the Gutenberg or Classic Editor plugins installed? I’d be happy to know the steps to reproduce to be able to tell if this is in fact an issue in Yoast SEO.

A good step to investigate is going through the steps Mabel mentioned above to see if it is also reproducible with a default theme and Yoast SEO as the only activated plugin. With the Health Check plugin troubleshooting mode, this is easy to test without affecting your site.

    One more update on this.

It seems that this is indeed an issue and mainly on lower resolution screens and when on WordPress 6.1 or 6.1.1, where the popup might go a bit outside the viewport. But I have not been able to get the popup showing up on top of the screen. We’ve created a bug report for our team to investigate this. Thank you for your patience.

    Hi Heroen,

    Thanks for looking into this.

I am running WordPress 6.0.3 (been advised not to update just yet).

Tried with the 2022 theme and only Yoast activated and the same thing happened.

    Thanks

We are still seeing clients reporting this same issue. We have seen the issue on WordPress 6.0.3, 6.1.1, & 6.2, with Yoast 20.3 & 20.4. Rolling back to 20.2.1 always fixes the problem. Not being able to add links to posts seems like it is more than a minor issue and should be addressed, should it not?
