    Joomla 1.5 – WordPress 3.0.1

I was a little disappointed to see the overall lack of instructions. It looks simple, so I guess it’s assumed you should know what information they’re asking for. But the database parameter input options were a not as obvious as I would have liked.

Anyway, To get it to work I had to go into PHPMyAdmin and give my WP-user full access privileges to the Joomla Database. Then in the top set of boxes for this plug-in I put the WP user information. That worked perfectly.

I think a needed upgrade to this plug-in would be to ask for the user-name and password for BOTH the WP and Joomla databases. Then it could process everything without needing to modify anything in PHPMyAdmin.

However, with this slight modification (mentioned above) I would highly recommend this plug-in. It worked great and I couldn’t find anything else out there like it at all.

I should say that all I wanted to do was to migrate some blog style posts from Joomla. No pictures, no external files. And it did tat very well. Someone with more complex needs may have more trouble with the process than I did. I can’t really speak to that.

    But Thanks for the plug-in.
