    So I get another critical error on one of my websites, now I know what has caused it, Blocksy auto update. I love the theme, but have had to turn off auto update for it as it always knocks my sites over.

    Hi @static1635,

    That is super weird, this should not happen and we don’t know about such an issue with our auto update process.

    Do you happen to know what is the error that happens at that moment? Maybe you have the stack trace somewhere or you have the error in the debug.log file?

    This would help us ameliorate the problem or at least understand where to look.

    It might be that my Dreamhost shared hosting doesn’t complete the update fast enough. I usually manually FTP Blocksy in order to fix it but clearly the auto-update fails/timesout in all different places. I have Blocksy on about five sites and don’t have other brands of theme failing on any of the other 20 or so. The ones with auto-update off have been just fine.

    I can find a debug.log if needed.

    Hi @static1635,

    That’s really weird, this is the first time when someone is reporting such an issue… Honestly I don’t really think this is somehow related to Blocksy but we can make a more detailed investigation.

    Please find the debug.log file and send it to our email – [email protected]

    Waiting an email from you.

    Have a good day!

    Ok, well, if I’m the only one, no point is there?

    Hey @static1635,

    We could check this more detailed but we will need the debug.log so we could see the entire picture better.

    Are you able to provide the log file?

    Have a good day!

    Where do I find the debug.log? Also, now that I have “auto-update” for the theme turned off the error is not going to show as it isn’t worth the risk of it knocking the site over.

    @static1635 the debug.log file is always found in the wp-directory/wp-content/debug.log. But, you have to add these two lines to the wp-config.php file to enable its generation:

    define( 'WP_DEBUG', true );
    define( 'WP_DEBUG_LOG', true );

    After you reproduce the error, the details should be in that file. Please send it over to us and be sure that the error is going to be fixed, if it is coming from our side.

    Please have a read in this document to learn more info about the debug.log file.

    Looking forward to hear back from you.

    Ok, one of my websites is unused right now, so I’ll try it with that one.
