On several sites, the plugin settings show a weekly scan schedule for Monday’s at midnight, but today, I received multiple email from each site, sometimes with different results (?!).

This seems to be due to the date of the next run not changing. The hub is showing the next run today at midnight, but that’s already passed.

I’ve just added a schedule on a site that had none, and it scheduled then next run a week from the last manual run, which is today at … midnight.

I think the hub is calculating the time of the next run incorrectly. Please fix.

    Hi again @galbaras

In general, It should generate a wp scheduled event (cron) and that would call Hub to start a new scan. Can you install a plugin like WP Crontrol. Then in Tools > Cron Events (/wp-admin/tools.php?page=crontrol_admin_manage_page) and there search for blc_

Please check on that lists does ?blc_schedule_scan?exist there and what is the Next Run value.

    Kind Regards,
    Kris

So no new emails since yesterday, and all the next scan schedules are correct now. Maybe this had to do with the time zone, which I changed yesterday.

We’ll see what happens next week.

    Good Monday, WPMU DEV folks,

Today, I received MANY (over 100) broken link emails – 18 for some sites, 19 for most others, and 36 for one of them. Changing the timezone and recreating the schedule evidently didn’t work, and we still have a problem.

    Please fix. Thank you.

Also, if possible, can I not get any emails when the scan finds nothing?

Thank you. FYI, the messages stopped coming after Monday morning, except for one message from one site on Tuesday morning. Weird.

    Hi @galbaras.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to stop sending emails when the scan doesn’t discover any issues. However, an improvement for this is planned which will be implemented at the BLC end as soon as possible.

To debug the issue with multiple notification emails, please email us at [email protected] so we could help you better in this case.

    Hi @galbaras

    Thank you.

I checked the logs for the shared sites and I see a pattern, there were multiple scans running up to April 2 but they stopped on April 3 and the next scan is set to April 9, can you confirm if you still receiving emails for those sites?

We also pinged our developers to verify this for you, we will keep you posted.

    Best Regards

    Hi Patrick,

I only get emails on Mondays, but then, I get 17-20 of them per site, and nothing until the next week. There’s only one schedule per site, so I’m not sure why there are multiple scans.

Could it be that scans are broken down into batches, and each batch generates a report, instead of only the last one? The reports actually vary, which shouldn’t happen.

    Cheers,
    Gal

    Hi @galbaras

This recent update had a fix added that was supposed to stop those notification.

It worked in our tests but it’s always great to have a first-hand experience confirmation from the real case. Thank you for letting us know!

    Best regards,
    Adam
