We use Use Yoast SEO 20.3 and the Gutenverse Theme on a WordPress 6.1.1 installation. The theme makes use of Full Site Editing and therefor pulls the homepage out of the templates section, the homeapge is not saved as a separate page. I wonder how we can manage the Yoast settings of the homepage?

Yoast SEO metabox is available and performs the content analysis, which is added via the default WordPress editor of the page or post. You mentioned homepage is not a separate page. Unfortunately, Yoast SEO may not detect and analyze the content in that case.

If the plugin/theme has added the right code for Yoast to hook into, Yoast is expected to then scan those modules. We are not familiar with that plugin/theme so we are not sure if they have added the right code. We suggest contacting the plugin’s/theme’s authors and asking them if they have included the right code in all the modules for Yoast to scan. This guide explains more and includes links to the code they need to have: https://yoast.com/help/is-the-plugin-compatible-with-xyz-visual-page-builder/

In the meantime, please know that even though Yoast is showing warnings as long as you know you have added the right content like internal links, images, etc., so will Google. Google will still be able to scan the source code of the page.

    Hello @suascat_wp

I’m member of the Gutenverse plugins & themes author.
Regarding our user’s (@yellowlime) issue, this is specifically for Block Themes.
Block themes work differently than classic themes, it uses templates and not the regular pages for content.
This is not only happen in our themes, but also other block themes like the default TT2 and TT3 from WordPress, where there is no Yoast SEO setting when editing templates.
If there is setting/hook we should apply, then please let us know.
I hope this clear things up.

    Best Regards. ??

@yogajegstudio Thank you for the additional information.

We’re sorry to learn that the Yoast SEO plugin is not detecting content you have added via templates in block themes; I understand this is undesirable. Currently, the Yoast SEO content analysis doesn’t work with the TT2 and TT3 templates and likewise FSE themes but works on normal Posts and Pages. However, an internal report is currently open in our development repository to extend Yoast SEO to add support for the such Templates.

In the meantime, there’s no workaround available to use Yoast SEO block themes Templates. So, you’ll need to optimize your normal Posts and Pages using the Yoast SEO plugin.

    What’s next?
Our product team will assess the severity of this problem in relation to other open bug reports and new features. Based on their assessment, the bug report will be given a priority level. Our developers work on the highest priority issues first. Unfortunately, this means we cannot give you an estimate of when they’ll start working on your report.

If you have any further information that may affect the prioritization or help our development team solve this bug, please feel invited to reply to this thread.

Let us know if there’s anything else we can assist you with; we’re happy to help.

Thank you @suascat_wp, we hope to see this feature soon in your Theme.

Hmm… Over four months later, I’m wondering if there been any progress with this? I’ve spent many hours working on Yoast SEO, but if it can’t be applied to the Home page (with Settings > Reading set to “Latest Posts”) there doesn’t seem to be much point.
@suascat_wp mentioned that Yoast’s product team would assess the issue and give it a priority according to its severity – if nothing has happened in four and a half months, I fear I may be looking for a different SEO option. (I’m using Twenty Twenty Two and Three themes).
