When I have a shortcode, called from my theme file, showing the default podcast player on a page, and also have the Breeze caching plugin’s lazy load images feature enabled, the page breaks.

The problem seems to be that some of the greater-than characters are getting escaped inside the shortcode’s output. The result here is that the rest of the page’s content is considered commented-out by most browsers!

If I disable the lazy load feature, the player widget works, but this of course hurts the performance of our website. Perhaps this interaction could be fixed!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

I’ve asked the Blubrry dev team to investigate this issue. I’ll post another message here when I get something back from them.

This is what the dev team had to say in response to your post: “I downloaded Breeze and wasn’t able to recreate this on local. But, if what they say is true and Breeze is escaping greater-than characters in our shortcode, I think Breeze is the plugin that needs to make a change there. We can’t really stop a different plugin from escaping things.”

You may want to check with the developer of Breeze for support with this issue.
