Hi @steveax!
As for the size:
You could make sliders with the Full page slider type:
which are both as wide and as high as the screen is. However please note that this feature is only available in the Pro version of Smart Slider 3, and on this forum we are only allowed to provide support for the Free version, as per the forum guidelines:
So if you are interested in that, the please get in touch with us directly over the ticket system:
But if the height isn’t that important, so you only need to have the slider as wide as the screen is, then you can use the Full width slider type (with Force full width option enabled) which is available in the Free version, too.
As for the header / using the slider as a background :
It is important to mention that, you won’t be able to use the slider as a background. If you need to show something above the slider, build that element inside the slider with our layers:
If your header is simple, you can build that in your slider, too like we did in these slider templates:
But If you have a more complex, sticky header, then you should continue using the one that you had earlier. However if you want the header to overlap the slider, then you should make you header to be either an absolute or fixed positioned element, and the z-index of the header should be greater than the z-index of the slider’s container.
As for the controls:
If you don’t need controls/actions, you can disable them in the Controls tab:
Making the slider fade slide to slide without having any controls:
If you want your slider to change slides periodically, then you can use the Autoplay option to achieve that:
Best regards,
Laszlo.
