This is a new problem that has cropped up. It took some time using FB debug tool, but I figured out that if an apostrophe is in the post title, og:title is not picked up by Facebook, their tool says it’s blank. Looking at the page source, the og:title is there, but it uses the html code for the apostrophe, so “Let’s” looks like: “Let's”, and FB apparently doesn’t like that.

As I say, this is a new problem, so does it have to do with the way Yoast is creating the og:title?

    Hello @jamminjames

Thanks for reaching out about your og:title.

I tested what you described but couldn’t replicate it. I added an apostrophe in the post title, which og:title is picked up by Facebook sharing debugger; it shows the apostrophe as HTML code in the page source. See screenshot and this.

It would be helpful if you could send us screenshots of the issue so we can understand it better. You can use any image-sharing service like https://pasteboard.co/, https://snag.gy/, https://imgur.com/, https://snipboard.io/, or even upload the screenshot to your website. Once you upload it to an image-sharing service, please share the link to the image here.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Okay, there must’ve been another reason for it. But this seemed to be the case, since the og:title stayed blank, even after repeated “scrapes”, until I changed the post title to one without an apostrophe. It has happened with other posts as well, but inconsistently. I’ll keep troubleshooting. Thanks.
