server php OOM errors after auto-upgrade 6.2

    So…. this morning around 5am my websites started auto-upgrading the WP Core to 6.2. And after that, the php service on my server started hogging CPU and memory, kicking the OOM service killer into action. So now the server is slow, websites are unresponsive, everything suffers. PHP gets restarted. Running Ubuntu 20.04, php8-pfm.

    I’ve reverted to a backup from before the upgrade. This works, but the cron immediately triggers the auto-upgrade and it all happens again. And because of this, ssh isn’t working, you basically can’t do anything on the server right now.

    Has anyone else have this issue? It’s a server level out of memory error that crashed the php service.
