Taxonomy setting for sort option

    Could you please explain what the Sort option in Taxonomy settings does? When should it be set to true? In my case, I am using Elementor Pro and Dynamic for Elementor plugin.

    “Whether terms in this taxonomy should be sorted in the order they are provided to wp_set_object_terms()“

    Personally, I’m not completely sure, it seems to be involved with sorting in some fashion, when it gets to the point of associating the terms with a given post, but I’m not sure beyond that. It’s definitely something that’s been around for a good number of years. I wonder if it’s in part related to performance with queries elsewhere, or a default order that they’re shown when fetching the terms on a post.
