• See ToC in the linked page. The final h3 in the list is merged with the previous, before the following h2 in the block.

After inspecting there only seems to be one <li> tag generated for the two headings. This is a repeatable issue on every ToC on my site now where I specify the ToC to go to max h3 depth. If there are h4 headings on the page and I set max depth to h4, then the problem goes away. Obviously, this isn’t an acceptable workaround as not all posts include h4 headings.

I’m pretty sure this has only started occurring since the latest update as I have used this plugin for years.

I will look into this as fast as possible. I am not on vacation anymore so this might take a few days. And as a side note: your site seems to show me only white pages on mobile.

Okay, maybe it is very early in the morning, but can you please show me a structure like this and tell me, where the problem exactly appears?

    #h2
    #h3
    #h3
    #h4

SimpleTOC with max depth h3 show the following problem:
    XXX

Because I can’t see the problem on your website currently, I need to reproduce it in my test environment.

Ah, I see. H2 and H3 gets “merged” to the same level.

I’m unsure why you don’t have access to my website – I do block some VPNs so that could be the reason. But yes, H2 is getting merged with the H3 that precedes it. The TOC block is always set to H3 max. so I’ve had to change it on a few to have H4 max. which seems to fix the problem. I’ve found another example of the H2 merging with the H3

@notesbythalia I get a white screen on mobile but not on desktop. Maybe your caching plugin is the problem?

But back to the problem: I don’t have an easy fix right now but this will be fixed in the next release. sorry for that.

Please try 6.0.4 if this fixed the problem
