“There has been a critical error on this website. ” when accessing wp-admin

    I can access my site fine, and I can login. When logged in the site shows the admin toolbar across the top, but when I try to access wp-admin, I get

    There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.

    1. No changes to the site in a long time.
    2. No email was sent to the admin email address
    3. Renaming the wp-content\plugins via FTP didn’t help.
    4. Nothing in wp-admin error_log since 2017.
    5. Nothing in plugins error_log since 2018.
    6. The admin header bar on the site says there are 6 updates pending.
    7. Host system error logs for today are empty
    8. Site is running WordPress 6.0.3.

    Hi @kwdavids,

    thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

    Unfortunately, you are in the wrong place to receive help ?? These particular forums where you posted are dealing with questions around the TablePress plugin for WordPress. Your site’s issues seem to be caused by something else though (at least I couldn’t find that your site uses TablePress).

    I can therefore only suggest that you ask in the general troubleshooting forums at?https://www.ads-software.com/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting/

    (One suggestion from me though: You could try turning on the WordPress debugging. For that, please set the WP_DEBUG constant to true in your site’s “wp-config.php” file, see https://www.ads-software.com/support/article/debugging-in-wordpress/#wp_debug . This should then show you more error information when accessing the admin area.)
