    Hi @ermpress

Thanks for using Yoast SEO plugin. We understand that the metadata for the portfolio page is not getting saved. The most common reason for the settings not saving correctly or not loading as expected is due to a conflict caused by other plugins or some caches (object cache within the server or browser cache).?As the data is not showing within the database, the issue would be mostly due to some plugins/theme conflict.

Often, we see problems occur in combination with another plugin or theme. The fastest way to rule out any conflict is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Twenty-Two.

Please test this on your development or staging site if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which does not affect normal visitors to your site.

If you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts.

We also recommend you check the Browser console to check whether any JavaScript errors are logged when saving the settings.

If you feel uncomfortable doing this yourself or if this does not solve your issue, our Yoast SEO Premium plugin comes with one year of (technical) support.

Hi Jose, many thanks for your answer. I will give it a try, but let me say that if I enter the values directly in the database, they’re showing up on the portfolio page and I can also edit/save them there.

So basically I just add entries for [_yoast_wpseo_focuskw], [_yoast_wpseo_metadesc] and [_yoast_wpseo_linkdex].

When I find the time to test I’ll let you know of course. Have a nice day!

    Hi @ermpress

We understand that if you directly add values into the database, it saves it properly.

However, we would expect that manually adding it when editing that CPT (portfolio) page, adding it in the Yoast SEO meta box, for the focus keyphrase, meta description, and other fields, and when you click ‘update’ or ‘save’, that it would store those values.

Does it appear as blank when you reload the page edit screen? If so, please do try to perform a conflict check, and rule out any plugin or theme conflicts that could be causing this. If you could locate any JavaScript errors in the browser’s console in the page edit screen (and take a screenshot), this would be beneficial as well.
