Hello, I have set up two QR codes on a site which were both working fine both scanned from mobile and print and also from the custom url. Now none of them are working any of these ways. This is recent, possibly since some wp and plugin updates and since some security work I have done though I have rolled back a couple of changes I made in Cloudflare to no effect. I have tried checking and unchecking various settings but no use.

I tested by setting a different redirect page for each of the 4 options and it appears the plugin thinks that the QR is disabled/invalid but they both show as fine (green tick) in the table.

Please let me know what you need from me to be able to troubleshoot. It’s quite urgent.

    Thank you.

    Hello,
the status icons in the QR-Code List table tell if the QR-Codes are enabled or disabled (property “Disabled” in the QR-Code Edit page) and allow to distinguish the states of the items when the search filter “Enablement” is set to “- any -“.

Please go to the Scan logs page and check the status of the logs (active, inactive, expired, finished, etc.): these are the states of the scans, that is how the plugin had considered the QR-Codes at the moment of the scans. Let me know what you see.

Hi there, thanks for super-prompt reply.

It’s scanning but it’s redirecting every time. Last time was me trying with ?nocache.

So, logs shows the plugin has successfully redirected but, if I’ve understood the issue, the URL was a wrong one, precisely the URL set in the Settings page as “Redirect URL for disabled/invalid keys”…

Sorry but it’s hard to figure out what happens without giving a look at the plugin configuration. If you agree, please create a temporary admin user and send the login data to [email protected] .

Hi Sosidee. that’s fine, I am sending you an admin login to your address with instructions.

Hey Sosidee, I just want to check that you got my email. I’m worrying it ended up in spam. Please let me know if there is anything else you need from me.

    Hello,

Yes I received your emails and will proceed to make some checks.

    Hello,
    I checked the plugin configuration.

Then I tried to access the pages you want users are redirected to (by scanning the qr code images) inserting the URLs directly in a browser (both mobile and desktop), but I was automatically redirected to the Contact Us page.

I guess that’s what happens when scanning the qr codes: users experience a double redirect (one from the plugin and one from the page).
I’m not aware of the reason of this behaviour because it lies in the two pages.

    Can you check that?

Hi there, I replied via email but I have an update. I have found that if I disable the option on the page which says prevent users from accessing this page unless they have scanned the QR code, then it works fine. However we were hoping that we could have that restriction. We want to keep the section completely protected except for guests who are given the code either as a scannable image or the link. Any ideas Sosidee?

Hello, I checked only the plugin configuration, so didn’t realize the content hiding option was set in the pages.
Then I turned on the Enable content hiding with standard QR code images property in the Settings console page to fit your situation, and now I need to check if there’s an issue with the cookies.
