I created a number field, but in front when visitor is filling it, he can put any caracters in the number field, and only when he focus out of the field is that when he sees the error (but with no message explaining what is wrong). Is there a way to disallow non-number character to even be inserted in the number field?

    Hi @agencia221b

The number field is designed only to allow numbers, and in my tests I cannot type any other characters into this field type.

The quick fix for your issue would be enabling javascript validation as shown here: https://formidableforms.com/knowledgebase/general-form-settings/#kb-validate-this-form-with-javascript

That said, I suspect your issues are deeper, and there may be a conflict on your site that is impacting the basic functionality of the number field.

To help diagnose the issue and determine if anything on your site is interfering with Formidable, we recommend following the steps in this guide: https://formidableforms.com/knowledgebase/what-plugins-are-known-to-cause-conflicts/#kb-how-to-find-a-conflict

We understand that testing like this on a live site can be challenging, so we suggest creating a copy of your site (a staging site) and performing the testing on that. You can create a staging site by copying your site using free plugins like All in One WP Migration or Duplicator, or by asking your host to create a staging site for you.

If you have any questions about this or need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to ask. We’re here to help.

    Best regards,

Hi Nathanael, thanks for your answer.

I tried apply the fixes that you suggested, but it seem not to solve the problem.

I’m trying in this page: https://escolapt.org.br/wp/sample-page/ which is a brand new wordpress instalation, in a shared normal commercial hosting, and no other plugins or themes or custom codes active. Just Formidable with a number field (with javascript validation checked).

But I just can type any character, letters, comma, etc.

I’m using the free version of Formidable, i don’t know if this has any influence in the matter.

    Hi @agencia221b

I just checked your sample form, and I am only able to type numbers into that field. Letters and symbols do not appear.

It sounds like this might be an issue with your browser – or possible with a VPN if you use one. Do you have the same issue if you switch to a different browser or internet connection?

    Oh man. Got it…
Sorry for that, I should have tried in other browser.

I tested here too in chrome and worked just fine.

My firefox for sure is bugged, is even breaking divi builder… I dont know what is happening, but Formidable seems to work correctly.

    Thanks for your help!
