• In order to use BLC 2.0, registration with external services and input of WordPress login account are forced, so it became a terrible plugin.

By the way, when I created an account on WPMU Dev and tried to connect with “CONNECT TO WPMU DEV” on the BLC 2.0 management screen, I got the error “The site you chose doesn’t look like a WordPress site.” so BLC 2.0 service could not be used.

Since then, spam emails from WPMU Dev have arrived every day, and my WordPress account has been taken out, so it has turned into the worst plugin.
    This plugin sucks!

    Hi @senribb

Sorry to hear you are having this issue and are frustrated.

The connection is only required if you would like to use the Cloud-based crawler, we are indeed improving the user experience in the interface for a local scan which still uses the old engine and is not use an external connection.

The connection is required as it uses our API to crawl your website bringing the benefits of:

    – Use a custom crawler allowing us to keep us to have a better reputation while scanning the link and decrease the false positives
    – It uses the front end, so can find much more links than the old engine.
    – Remove all stress from your database since is our servers who handle the requests and scan.

About the “The site you chose doesn’t look like a WordPress site.” can happen when we use a custom login or block the wp-admin connection, but we also provide a plugin connection method: https://wpmudev.com/docs/hub-2-0/add-a-site-to-hub-2-0/#connect-from-wpmu-dev-dashboard-plugin

For the emails you can unsubscribe to any email at the bottom clicking on “You can update your preferences or unsubscribe from this list.”

The connection uses a safe API and we frequently run security tests to ensure you won’t run into problems when connecting the site.

    Best Regards

From now on, I have no plans to connect to The Hub (https://wpmudev.com/hub2/account/).
So please delete my account ! !
Your site that doesn’t even have a menu to delete my account is too suspicious.

Since V2.0, this plugin has changed owners and has become a stupid and dangerous plugin, so I uninstalled it today.
Broken links can be checked with the following tools, so this awful plugin is unnecessary.
    Link Checker

    Hi @senribb

We took the plugin for more than 3 years now https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/important-announcement-2/ so it is not a fresh change between companies.

It has been maintained and we created a fresh engine and didn’t remove the local scan allowing you to choose between them, we totally understand your choice of not using it but saying the plugin is dangerous is not true, www.ads-software.com itself has strong rules for security and we follow all good practices.

    Best Regards
