Exclude Post/page IDs and Exclude display is not working.

  • I have added Comma-separated list of post or page IDs to exclude from the list, Also using “Insert Pages” Plugin to insert those page(Exluded Ids) to display in another pages.

    In Induvial pages is related posts are not displaying, but in the Insert of same Pages, related posts are displaying.

    Expectation is to not display the excluded pages in the Insert Pages as well.

    Excluded Ids: 3,20,27,31,33,35,42,44

    What exactly does the Insert Pages plugin do and where? Does the plugin work as expected when you have the Insert Pages plugin disabled?

    Insert page plugin, help to insert the pages via short code.

    After disabled the Insert page plugin, short codes are appearing rather content of the page.

    I’ve been thinking thru this. Am I understanding this correctly.

    As an example, you have page with ID 5 with some content.

    You insert page this page into another page with ID 2.

    You’ve added 5 to the exclude IDs and when you view 5 you don’t see the related posts.

    However when you see 2 you can related posts related to 5. Is that correct?

    If so, the only solution I can think of is to disable the automatic insert and potentially use the related posts widget or manually change your theme. The reason is because the posts are added to the_content and when viewing 5, WordPress looks at the page ID as 5 and not 2.
