Hi @gopa4, thanks for reaching out to us.

The?error?message?ERROR: an error was encountered while trying to authenticate?usually means Wordfence’s javascript loaded OK, and the login was attempted, but there was an?error?in the AJAX response.

Often, it can be that the site is being visited with a?www, but the scripts are loading without it, or vice versa. If you can send diagnostics and let us know if you have a custom login URL, we can usually check whether that is happening. Please also let us know the login URL (without domain here on the forums for security purposes, as we’ll be able to see that part in the diagnostics).

You can send diagnostics to us at wftest @ wordfence . com directly using the link at the top of the Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics page. Then click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.

NOTE: It should look as follows – Screenshot of Tools > Diagnostic > Send by Email

    Thanks,
    Peter.
