You can’t ask 5 stars rating directly!

    I have checked this file “/includes/admin/class-review.php” Line#222

    $url  = 'https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/wpforms-lite/reviews/?filter=5#new-post';

    Based on my understanding, it appears that you are requesting users to directly or indirectly navigate to the five-star rating page/option, which is not permissible.

    So, the code should be like this:

    $url  = 'https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/wpforms-lite/reviews/#new-post';

    I hope that your team of developers can resolve this issue and prevent further reports from other users.

    using this is not considered fair and we (moderators) advise against using it on forums when asking users to post a review. Doing so on plugin dashboard, well, it is not fair too, however you can clarify this with the plugin dev guidelines and plugins team on #pluginreview channel of Slack ( https://make.www.ads-software.com/chat/ )

    The same explanation was what I was attempting. If your developers are employing the same on your other products, remove them immediately. That is likewise unacceptable.

    The problem with any developer hard coding this:

    /?filter=5#new-post

    Is that a) it is disingenuous as all else (it hides the non-5 star reviews) and b) that’s dishonest.

    @prashantrai @kmacharia (plugin support) and @smub @wpforms @jaredatch @slaffik (listed plugin authors) can you stop doing that now?

    It’s a bad look. It’s also unnecessary to play such games in the link. You really do not need to give this much thought. Just lose the ?filter=5 from you code.

    It’s the responsible thing to do. Your happy users will still leave you good reviews. The people who won’t will not be impressed by that gaming.

    Really just do an update. In the comment you can put “Doing the Right Thing?”

    Just to be clear here, there is NO guideline problem when it comes to this. Is it annoying? Yeah. Do I personally like it? I actually don’t really care.

    You don’t have to change it. Some people hate it, some don’t. There are pros and cons, and it’s up to the developer. They know some people hate it, and if they’re willing to take the ‘hit’ to their rep for it? Go ahead. I’m not your parent ??
