Search Console Only ready 1 of several sitemaps

    Here’s an interesting one I couldn’t find in the topics.

    Only 1 sitemap is being

    I have 5 sitemaps underneath the /sitemap_index.xml sitemap:
    post-sitemap.xml
    page-sitemap.xml
    product-sitemap.xml
    category-sitemap.xml
    product_cat-sitemap.xml

    The product_cat-sitemap.xml sitemap has 17 URLs

    The others ‘couldn’t fetch’.

    I added the sitemap_index.xml, and that was able to fetch, but it too only had 17 URLs. -> The URLs that are housed in the product_cat-sitemap.xml

    I have run all of these sitemaps through www3 validator, and am not seeing much difference between them.
    I have run a comparative site ( another one of our clients ) through the www3 validator. While I am seeing numerous issues, they look to be identical.

    I have run a Search and Replace for http to https URLs as I saw this could be a solution in the forum.
    There is no change in Search Console.

    I have repeatedly cleared the caches, no luck.
    I am currently running Yoast Version 20.7

    Any advice or ideas?

    Thanks for reaching out regarding your sitemap. Unfortunately, Google doesn’t provide any more information about why they cannot read the sitemap.

    1. Does the sitemap load correctly in your browser?
    2. Are you submitting the correct sitemap URL of sitemap_index.xml?
    3. Does Google see the sitemap when checking the URL in the Structured Data Testing Tool?
    4. Does the URL inspection tool‘s live test show any errors with the sitemap URL? If yes, please resolve the errors.
    5. Did you submit the sitemap to the Google Search Console profile that matches the preferred URL format including http(s) and www or non-www?
