    Hi there,

I have an image heavy website, which got huge amount of images in my media library, and it takes large amount of space in my web hosting server. (5Gb in total at the moment).

I am thinking to use CF images (haven’t sign up the plan yet), got some questions before I try that.

    1. if I offload images to CF, what will happen to the original image file I uploaded earlier? Will those be removed from hosting server or still be kept there? I am hoping it can free up my server space for me.
    2. my website got Avada theme with Fusion Builder, Avada got its own image sizes. If I offload all the existing images from media library to CF, will the Avada image size kept in CF too?
    3. How easy to offload all the existing images? I got 3000+ images.

    Thanks heaps.

    Hi @deardevils,

At the moment, the originals are all preserved on the website, including the custom image sizes, which are generated by Avada. Cloudflare images only require the original and they will generate any size based on URL parameters. So you can use the plugin with Avada.

In terms of ease – there’s a bulk offload option. Just click it and wait for the process to complete.

    Best regards,
    Anton

    Cheers mate.

I do have schedule backup for my website, I assume I can delete from local folders and only use CF images if offload successfully?

If I delete all the images from upload folders, will I be able to see them in media library as thumbnails from CF or broken images?

@deardevils, please do not remove the files manually. This will break your website. I am working on the feature to delete the files after upload. And it might be in the upcoming release.

    Hi @deardevils,

I’ve added beta support for full offloading. I’m looking for feedback, if you’d like to test this out, please install the latest beta version from here: https://github.com/av3nger/cf-images/releases/tag/1.2.1-beta.2

I have released an update with the offload functionality. I’ll mark this as resolved. Please feel free to create a new thread, if any issues are still present.

    Best regards,

@deardevils Hi, I am also using Avada theme but having an issue when lazy loading is controlled by AVADA, pics outside of viewpoints won’t load. only if I change the lazy loading back to WordPress, pics can be loaded via CF Images. Do you experience same behavior?

    Thanks

@sipher1975 I don’t use Avada Lazyload as WP or even without that can manage the images well. I will have a try and let you know.

I have found a bug with full offloading and images, however, I don’t think it affects lazy loading. I have pushed a beta here -> https://github.com/av3nger/cf-images/releases/tag/1.4.0-beta.1

I would really appreciate if anyone is able to test and see if the issue is resolved.

    Best regards,

Hi, I did a quick test on the staging site (devsite.paramita.tv), it seems working fine with AVADA lazying loading enabled (both AVADA & CF cache cleared before testing). thanks

One follow up question in regards of removing the previously uploaded Images, is there a bulk remove local files function after bulk upload?

    thx

One follow up question in regards of removing the previously uploaded Images, is there a bulk remove local files function after bulk upload?

If you are referring to removing from Cloudflare images – go to Media – Offload Settings and click the “Bulk Remove” button. If you want to remove the physical files from the WordPress media library, when the “Full offload” option is enabled – because this is still experimental, it’s only available on a per image basis.

@vanyukov I was referring to the physical image files from my host machine. it would be great to have a bulk local file removal function in the future release~

Again, great plugin, save me a tons of integration work!

@sipher1975 His beta version can offload previous uploaded images from local server to CF images then remove from local storage, to free up space.

Try the link from github above.
