How can a user hide a page from navigation, need help…

Heya,
I can’t figure out how to hide pages from the navigation in the WordPress administration area. I’ve tried marking the page as private, but then the page is no longer accessible by direct URL (which I need it to be). And manually excluding it in the wp_list_pages() function isn’t an option either because administrators need to be able to do this.
Can someone tell me how I can accomplish this natively or with a plugin? Thanks!
