    I am using woocommerce subscriptions with a payment gateway for gocardless. When a subscription becomes active the member gets a “woamember” role.

    However, if they then decide to change their payment method for the subscription they are just taken to the wordpress back end. If I change the role to “subscriber” woocommerce subscriptions works as it should.

    Not sure of the best way to sort this out. Woocommerce recommended their own members plugin….

    Hi @spike210957

    Members allows you to manage capabilities provided by WordPress platform, active theme, and plugins installed. It does not provide any custom capabilities. If WooCommerce works well when a user has Subscriber role, you could try to edit Woamember role and grant the same capabilities as Subscribe role.

    Other than that, you would need to reach out to WooCommerce Subscriptions support to see if they have special capability that allows you to achieve what you want. If you know capability you need, you can change it easily in Role editor.
