    Hello.

I have quite a complex structure of categories and some categories have the same name. But different parents. When creating a new post I often assign the post to 2 categories with the same name and I have a problem knowing which one I choose as a primary because they have the same name. So I have to do trial and error to see what breadcrumbs show. If in the SELECT PRIMARY TERM window was also presented a parent category before the term, it would be easier to know.

Would it be possible to do that?
    Thanks.

    Hello @fkoomek,

    Thank you contacting the support.

By default, Rank Math follows two methods for the breadcrumbs hierarchy. For Pages, it uses the WordPress parent/child hierarchy. For posts, it uses the category parent/child hierarchy but if you set the primary term to a taxonomy other than regular categories, it only displays that term on the breadcrumbs with no parent category.

If you wish to customize beyond the default breadcrumbs, you will have to use a custom filter: https://rankmath.com/kb/filters-hooks-api-developer/#change-remove-breadcrumb-items.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Hello.
This is actually not what I meant.
I have a few categories called the same. This is just how my structure of page looks like and how it’s built for a client.
And often when creating post, I assign it to a 3 categories of the same name. Then selecting primary term looks like this:

And I never know which one I choose as primary. If I could see also parent category of those terms in dropdown, I would know.
    Thanks.

    Hello @fkoomek,

The Primary Category drop-down only lists the categories you have selected for the post and doesn’t include the parent-child structure. We have forwarded your suggestion to the dev team and they will surely consider it.

For now, you can use the classic editor to choose the primary category as it will be easy to identify the correct category in it. https://rankmath.com/kb/how-to-choose-a-primary-category/#how-to-choose-a-primary-category

Hope that helps. Let us know if you need any other assistance.
