The X-powered header is sent within the response header. (unnecessary)

  • Hi All. I am editing my wordpress website so that it ranks better on Google. In the SEO report it has flagged “The X-powered header is sent within the response header. (unnecessary)” The site runs as HTTPS not HTTP therefore can anyone offer a solution or step by step guide/you tube video for me to fix this. I have multiple websites so feel it would be good knowledge if I can fix this myself. can it be done as code in to the website our something from C-panel.

  • The X-Powered-By: PHP/7.4.33 response code is something set and sent by your hosting server, not WordPress.

    At most, I see this as a very minor (and likely insignificant) security issue. But I don’t see how this impacts SEO or site performance.

    Anyway, if you want to get rid of this, please get in touch with your host for help, or use the HTTP Headers plugin to control what headers are set (only to the extent that your host allows overriding http headers.)
