For me the totals in the section ‘Compare’ below the chart always show significantly lower numbers than the chart itself.

As an example, choosing ‘yesterday’ as the reporting period, I get a total of 548 PVs in the ‘compare’ overview. Summarizing all 24 chart values gives a much higher value (887). Choosing ‘past 7 days’ and hovering the PV dot in the chart, it also shows 887 PVs.

The latter number also matches better with the values one may see before midnight in the dashboard tab.

Do I get something wrong here ore is there a calculation error in the ‘Compare’ section?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @einereiner,

There is a bug in the charts. Burst should show all data without bounces included. It seems like the insights block did include bounces thus showing a different number.

Thanks for reporting the issue. I’ll fix the issues and it wil be solved in the next update. If you want I can send you a link to our GitHub where you can download the fix.

    Kind regards,

    Hi @einereiner,

I’ve fixed the issue in on our GitHub. You can download it here: https://github.com/Really-Simple-Plugins/burst/tree/Insights-bounce-fix

Or you could wait for the next release, which will be either late this week or at the start of next week.

I’ll close this thread for now, but feel free to re-open.

    Kind regards,

    hi Hessel,

I think the way this is fixed isn’t the best, because even bounces (I. E. PVs without further action) are valid page views, at least from our perspective. I’d rather have the total number of PVs including bounces in both the cart and the compare section. As for my understanding, that’s also the way how other tools like GA deal with it.

I suggest you can make this configurable, whether or not bounces should be included in the totals …

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi @einereiner,

Thank you for your thoughts. Burst has always(this bug excluded) shown the data without bounces, but I do understand that some people like to see the data including bounces. We will add a setting or a filter where you can select whether you want to include or exclude bounces in the dashboards.

Thanks a lot. Feel free to contact us for further improvements or any issues you encounter.

    Kind regards,
    Hessel

I see … Would very much appreciate the option to configure the counting behavior ??

btw in that case the total PVs shown in the posts/pages view of WordPress are also incorrect, there the total number including bounces is displayed, if I understand it right.

    Kind regards
