• We have a new problem with our site, https://swirlsipsnark.com. The majority of the time when someone attempts to post a comment, they get the following:
“500-Internal Server Error. There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed.”

We have had one person successfully comment since this happened, we have successfully replied via our dashboard, and 4 spam comments have ended up in the queue. When attempting to leave test comments as a not-logged in user, however, we get the error.

We’re hosted with GoDaddy. The only changes we have made in the last week is we have added the plugin “WordPress Editorial Calendar,” and we switched from showing 10 posts (just snippets) on the home page to 15.

Everything else is working fine- posts and pages load correctly, we can create and edit posts, and we have no problems accessing the dashboard. Any thoughts would be HUGELY appreciated.

Update- we can respond to comments from the dashboard, but from the comment field on the post we still usually get the error message. Any ideas?

    Grapeenvyguy,

I had the exact same problem on my comic hardlyworkingcomic.com

From what I found the problem was that all fields needed to be filled, and when people weren’t leaving website URL’s or emails it was giving them this error. The two fixes I found are 1.) Require everyone to fill all fields out and make it known that is the policy. Or 2.) disable that requirement.

To disable it go to “Settings” on the left hand side of the Dashboard, and go down to “Discussion.” Make sure the button marked “mment author must fill out name and e-mail” is unchecked and save. That fixed the problem for me. Hope this helps!
