• I tried to create a custom 404 Page by using the Block Editor to edit the built-in one at Dashboard > Appearance > Editor > Templates > 404.
The only change I made was to remove the Header block. Unfortunately, it will not save. I repeatedly get the error “Saving failed.” and “The “wp-revisions-control” plugin has encountered an error and cannot be rendered.”

I am using WordPress 6.22. Any suggestions?

    Thank you.

Well, it seems the source of the problem is clear in the above error message.

But to confirm, disable the “WP Revisions Control” plugin you have installed and try again. Note that this is not something that comes with WordPress by default, but a 3rd-party plugin you installed.

If saving the 404 template works with this plugin disabled, report this to the WP Revisions Control plugin’s support forum so the author will (hopefully) fix it: https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/wp-revisions-control/

    Good luck!

    Hello @gappiah,

I appreciate your response. As you suggested, I deactivated WP Revisions Control Plugin, and then edited the 404 template. Unfortunately, “Saving failed” came up again!

    Any new ideas are welcome.

    Thank you.
