    Hello,

I was recently playing around with the homepage of my site. Was trying to add a video, but it didn’t work out right, so I tried playing with the plugin MetaSlider. This didn’t really work for me either so I deactivated and deleted the plugin. I swapped everything for an image and HTML text on the homepage. It looks good, that’s working. But I have “Homepage Slider” text at the top of my page. This was the title of the slider I used, and I wasn’t trying to add it to my site at all. But I can’t figure out how to get rid of it now. I’ve cleared the cache and confirmed that the plugin is not on my site or is somehow stuck in additional CSS.

Can you please help me get rid of this?

    Thank you!

@0000dfb Thanks for using MetaSlider. It looks like you have a MetaSlider slideshow on your homepage and it looks great.

The “Homepage Slider” text is coming from a widget. Can you check the Appearance > Widgets area of your site?

    Hi Steve,

I don’t have MetaSlider installed in my WordPress anymore. There is not a MetaSlider Widget anywhere in my widgets area. The only thing in my Front Page 1 homepage widget area is an image and a custom HTML.

Hi @0000dfb. It’s late on Saturday night here, so I may need to step away, but MetaSlider is still showing on your site.

Maybe it’s integrated into the theme?

Could it be an issue with the NitroCDN which is loading the slide?

Do you see anything under Appearance > Widgets?

Hi Steve, no worries if we need to wait until Monday. Please enjoy your weekend.

Under widgets there is an option to add something called “Meta” for Login, RSS, & www.ads-software.com links, it says. But it isn’t added to any of the pages. All other pages look normal.

@0000dfb I looked again this morning, and think this could be related to theme. Unfortunately, I don’t have access as it’s a commercial theme. DO you mind asking the theme developers?

    Hi Steve,

I can certainly reach out to the theme developers, but could you explain why it might be related to the theme before I do? This was added in with the plugin, should it not be related to the plugin somehow, and how it is somehow still on the site?

    Thank you!

@0000dfb First, we’d love to help you use MetaSlider. That would be the easiest solution here ??

If you want to keep removing it, it’s difficult from the outside, to tell much more than it’s inside a widget.

If you can’t see if inside a widget, it’s worth asking the theme developers.

    I fixed it.

Remove everything from Front Page 1

    Clear cache

    Remove everything from additional CSS

    Clear cache

It should be gone at this point and you can follow your theme’s instructions to setup your Front Page 1 again.
