• I want to host two different, completely separate blogs on my site under two subdomains. I have one that already exists and I want to create another and I’m not sure what is involved.

Do I install WordPress into a new directory all over again and create a new login, etc.? Will it interfere with the other blog and the other version of WordPress in the other directory?

Also, would it possible be easier to re-direct the subdomain url to the url of a newly created category within the other site… for example: quaker.blahblah.com —-> goes to..–> monkey.blahblah.com/index.php?cat=9

??? I have no idea what to do…

No problems on installing a bunch of blogs in diff directories. I have 3 installed on my site (although I don’t use subdomains) everything runs smoothly. About the re-directing I don’t see a problem in that either.

It’s all workable and can be done in WP, check out the link macmanx has provided, read it, and follow it and then come back with any problems you may have. It’s relatively easy once you understand it.

Being a newbie myself, I found your question very interesting. I’m planning to do exactly the same. I’m wondering if it would be better to have two different data bases or just one would do the job?…

Sorry, I had not seen the link provided… The answer to my question is right there. Thanks!

Thanks guys, I searched for anything and didn’t find that link… sorry for posting a question there was already an answer to! I’ll post here with any questions if I can’t understand any of the instructions. ??
