    Hi,

We recently in July 8, started receiving spam completed forms. Not sure if this has to do with the latest plugin update or what we can do in this case. The number spam emails is relatively small but it’s the first time it’s happened since using this plugin. Otherwise it’s worked well.

    Please advise.

Problem continued today. Targeting the same page on our site and same form. We blocked two today.

    Hello,

Seems like it was manual spam. Please use this guide to add record to your personal lists:

@tbdnycrm did the Personal lists work for you?

Anyway, we are going to figure out this case again and let you know as we have results.

    I don’t think so.

We believe the issue is stemming from Google Ads (which is a whole other problem we have to address with them).

So someone or team is clicking on Google Ads the same ad that lands on the same page (we use multiple pages for Ads) and then navigating to the contact page and completing the WP Forms.

We have changed URL’s being affected by this and the form name plus paused the Ads to see if this halts the spam.

So far it’s worked, but it’s all very strange. The contact information placed on the forms was corrected but when we contacted the users (by phone) they claimed to have never filled out the form or visited our site, and that the email was one they no longer use.

We are almost sure all of the spam message originated from our Google Ads campaigns.

Thank you for the additional details. We will think about what can we do.

    Hello,

We’ve re-checked these requests. They are definitely made by humans. It could be some paid to click ads services. Unfortunately there is no guaranteed way to define these requests as spam.
