How to reduce height of Footer widget and change color and move it down?

  • The footer widget is too wide top to bottom. How can I make it more narrow vertically? And how can I change the color from gray to purple. And how can I move it down. I want to add more white space before it appears. I tried adding spacers, but they came out gray and I saw no way to make them white!
